Introduction To Melt-blown Filter Cartridges

Mar 07, 2026

The melt-blown filter cartridge is a tubular filtration product manufactured using polypropylene particles as raw material, processed through heating, melting, and fiber-spinning techniques. Also known as a PP cotton filter cartridge, it is primarily composed of a three-dimensional, porous, and fibrous network structure. The fibers possess diameters ranging from 5 to 25 microns, with an average pore size of less than 40 microns and a porosity exceeding 75%. It features a gradient pore structure design-loose on the outer layer and dense on the inner layer-which enables the staged interception of impurities and enhances dirt-holding capacity. Its filtration precision covers a range of 0.5 to 150 microns, and it is resistant to acids, alkalis, organic solvents, and oils. Under zero pressure, the filtration flow rate can reach up to 70 liters per minute; the standard service life is no less than one year. It withstands a maximum operating temperature of 82°C and a maximum differential pressure of 2.0 Bar, achieving a filtration efficiency of over 99%, and is capable of withstanding in-line steam sterilization at 126°C.

This filter cartridge is manufactured through a thermal-melt fiber entanglement process that requires no added binders; its composition of 100% pure polypropylene ensures safety for drinking water filtration applications. It is compatible with a wide range of customized specifications, including outer diameters of 60–115 mm and lengths of 5–60 inches. It is primarily utilized in drinking water pretreatment, the protection of RO (Reverse Osmosis) units, the preparation of ultra-pure water in the electronics industry, pharmaceutical liquid filtration, and the food and beverage sectors. It demonstrates broad applicability in fields such as industrial water treatment and chemical solution filtration, specifically covering scenarios involving municipal water supply, direct drinking water systems, high-purity water production, wastewater treatment, and seawater desalination.
