High Filtration Efficiency
Melt-blown filter cartridges feature high filtration precision; they can achieve a filtration accuracy of 0.1 microns for water and 0.2 microns for microorganisms. They are capable of effectively removing *E. coli*, *Salmonella*, *Staphylococcus aureus*, and *Chlorobacter* from water, with a filtration efficiency exceeding 99%.
This high efficiency stems from the filter cartridge's construction: it is made from thermally bonded, ultra-fine polypropylene fibers. These fibers are randomly fused in a three-dimensional space to form a porous microstructure. This structure features a progressive density gradient-denser on the inside and looser on the outside-which enables the staged capture of particles and provides a high dirt-holding capacity. Filtration efficiency testing typically encompasses Particle Filtration Efficiency (PFE), Bacterial Filtration Efficiency (BFE), and Viral Filtration Efficiency (VFE).
Safety
Melt-blown filter cartridges are manufactured using 100% pure polypropylene (PP) raw materials, requiring no binders or adhesives during the production process. The product is non-toxic, odorless, and serves as an eco-friendly water treatment material suitable for direct use in the filtration of drinking water, food, and beverages. Furthermore, the cartridges possess a high degree of inherent cleanliness and do not introduce contaminants into the water being filtered. The endotoxin level in their aqueous extracts is less than 0.5 EU/ml. These filter cartridges exhibit excellent resistance to acids, alkalis, and organic solvents, with an applicable pH range of 1 to 13. Certain product models are capable of withstanding *in-situ* steam sterilization at 126°C for 30 minutes.
Chemical and Physical Stability
Typically manufactured from polypropylene (PP), melt-blown filter cartridges demonstrate exceptional chemical compatibility, making them suitable for filtering strong alkalis and organic solvents. They are resistant to acids, alkalis, organic solutions, and oils, with an applicable pH range of 1 to 13.
In terms of physical stability, melt-blown filter cartridges possess high mechanical strength and resist deformation even when the differential water pressure across the filter inlet and outlet exceeds 0.4 MPa. They operate effectively across a wide temperature range; under a pressure of 0.25 MPa, they can function at temperatures below 70°C, and their filtration efficiency remains undiminished even at temperatures exceeding 90°C. As noted, select product models are capable of withstanding *in-situ* steam sterilization at 126°C for 30 minutes.
