Structure and Technical Principles of Melt-Blown Filter Cartridges

Feb 08, 2026

Melt-blown filter cartridges are tubular filtration elements manufactured using polypropylene granules as raw material, processed through a sequence of heating, melting, fiber extrusion, drawing, and forming. The fibers within the cartridge are randomly bonded in space to create a three-dimensional microporous structure; notably, the manufacturing process requires no added binders.

The structure of the melt-blown filter cartridge features a gradient pore-size design-looser in the outer layers and denser in the inner layers-which enables the staged interception of impurities and enhances dirt-holding capacity.

The filtration mechanism of the melt-blown cartridge falls under the category of precision filtration; it effectively blocks insoluble particles, organic matter, and microorganisms present in water, while removing impurities such as suspended solids, sediment, rust, colloids, and residual chlorine.
Constructed from 100% polypropylene, the filter cartridge possesses a high degree of inherent purity and introduces no contamination to the water quality.
