Introduction To Sintered Metal Filter Elements

Mar 02, 2026

Sintered metal filter elements are porous materials produced by subjecting metal powders to high-temperature sintering; in 2019, they were officially included in the standardized terminology for the chemical industry. This technology utilizes a hot-pressing process to bond metal particles without melting them, and employs isostatic hot treatment to enhance the material's structural integrity and strength. The relevant reference standards can be found in *Chemical Terminology (Vol. II): Basic Organic Chemicals* (1st Edition).

Sintered metal filter elements are broadly classified into two categories: sintered wire mesh filter elements and powder-sintered filter elements. Sintered wire mesh filter elements are formed by laminating and sintering layers of metal wire mesh to create a solid structure, offering both fine filtration capabilities and mechanical durability. Powder-sintered filter elements are manufactured using 316L metal powder and are characterized by their resistance to high-pressure cleaning and solvent corrosion, as well as their complete absence of metal particle migration. These filters are widely utilized across various sectors-including pharmaceuticals, chemical processing, food and beverages, and gas injection systems-and support customization of parameters such as thickness, permeability, and pore size.
